Great list Edwin thanks! Quite a few I have never heard of I will definitely investigate a few even though short selling is not my thing, at least get the contra arguments on stocks I am looking at. Thanks again...

Hi Edwin ,

Good to connect. I’m fairly new to Substack and still settling into the rhythm here. I write about markets and risk, but more from the angle of process, discipline, and the mental side of decision-making rather than predictions or hype.

I’ve spent enough time around markets to know how easy it is to overthink or get swept up in noise, so the writing is partly a way for me to slow things down and stay honest with myself.

If you ever have a moment to look through it, I’d genuinely welcome any feedback on the process. Good or bad — I can handle it.

Cheers, Andrew

Since you mention Google Trends, Google Alerts and Google Advanced Search, I’m very surprised that you don’t mention Googles’ Gemini or some other major AI tool. Personally, I like Grok as it is tied to Twitter. So you have all of FinTwit at your disposal.

Great point, next list will include a dedicated AI section!

Could you make a post about How You use AI for your research, some prompts and tools and so on, I have a few things and users with some great AI resources! Hit me on message!

adding to the below comment, can you do a bonus section with best AI tools??

Have you discovered which LLM is best to conduct your research or especially scrubbing through SEC filings?

Personally, I like Grok as it is tied to Twitter. So you have all of FinTwit at your disposal. I would also recommend Googles’ Gemini. I would advise againt ChatGPT as I see it as very unreliable.

Great list, I bookmarked the post right away. One addition worth considering for valuation practitioners: Prof. Damodaran's website (pages.stern.nyu.edu/~adamodar). Free datasets updated annually — implied ERP, beta by sector, country risk premiums, WACC by industry. If you're building DCF models from scratch it's a free resource most people don't know about.
